Introducing you to our new finish – Live Brass. 

Our Live Brass finish is a beautiful raw, unlacquered brass that is a lighter brass. The live brass finish was inspired by our love for organic and natural textures and design.  

Over the years we have seen designers steering away from creating spaces with interior pieces and materials that are ‘perfect’. There has been a rise of using abstract shapes, natural and raw textures, and creating spaces that are comfortable and designed to be lived in and wear beautifully.  

So, we thought it made sense to create a finish that complements interior spaces and fit outs that love ‘raw’ fixtures and design styles. 

The aging process 

As a raw brass, our aim for the design of this finish was to embrace the aging of the brass and the natural patina. The aging process will vary between live brass products and no handle will age the exact same. This is what we love most about our live brass, every handle ages differently and has a different aging process and story.  

Live Brass ages based on how much the products are exposed to touch, the different environments the handle resides in, oils, air and exposure to wet areas. You may have some handles in high-use areas and others on a cupboard that is used much less. The handle in the high-use area will age faster, whereas the handle in the low-use area will patina slowly. The more you expose your handles to, the deeper the rich, patina will appear. 

Caring for your Live Brass Products 

The beauty of our live brass is that they are easy to care for and do not need to be cleaned as regularly if you would like them to look aged. We recommend cleaning them with a microfibre cloth or if you would like to brighten the brass, using a brass cleaning solution will help to soften the deep patina colour and polish the brass up. 

Due to the love of our brass products, we are so grateful to design and release live brass in many of our core and signature collections. We hope you love this living finish as much as we do, and we cannot wait to see our pieces uniquely aging and styled in many beautiful spaces and homes.
